Do you know a young musician who wants to learn brass band music? Well, the Brass Band Academy is here ย This spring, they can get paid to train with master brass band musicians!
The Brass Band Academy is a program that provides students with a rare experience to learn brass band music from New Orleans, which is used during second line parades. Led by Old Town School faculty and the Windy City Ramblers, this program is designed to deepen youth knowledge and understanding of jazz and r&b. Students will also learn about the history of second line parades, and how to play classic compositions from the New Orleans brass band canon!

NOTE: Limited instruments are available, so students are strongly encouraged to bring their own.
